Many of the Bands in Asian countries especially in India were trained and run by British officers and NCOs.
Jerome was never able to obtain information from China and very little from Japan.
Ceylon (now Sri Lanka) contacted Interpol who spoke to the Metropolitan Police, they requested Ebbw Vale Police to visit Jerome and check why he wanted information on their Bands. When the policeman entered his home in Cwm he realised straight away that this was a genuine request so eventually the information was sent to him.
In Oman the Bands are still trained and run by British Directors of Music and Bandmasters
